Facial Plastic Surgeon

Miss Lekakis is currently working as a dedicated facial plastic surgeon at Moliere Hospital and Brugmann Hospital in Brussels, Belgium. She is also appointed as an academic surgeon at the Catholic University of Leuven and the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. She is involved in a number of research projects and in the process of completing her PhD thesis on “Multifaceted approach in Rhinoplasty Surgery – How to improve satisfaction” in the doctoral school of Biomedical Sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven.

Born in Melbourne Australia, graduated from University of Patras Medical School in Greece, she completed her basic surgical training in London UK. Her higher surgical training in Otorhinolaryngology was completed in the South East Thames rotation. Subsequently she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery with distinction from Queen Mary University of London. After two years of post-training fellowships, including formal fellowships in the Netherlands, Sacramento California and London UK, and the successful examination of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Philio practices in Brussels, Belgium, as one of only a few Double Board certified facial plastic surgeons in the country. Philio contributes to the board of reviewers for JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, Facial Plastic Surgery and Rhinology Journal, and is actively involved in research programs in Leuven. She is a member of the EAFPS Focus Group Outcomes Research in Rhinoplasty, and a member of the Research Committee of the European Rhinoplasty Society.
