Aims of the Course

To train qualified surgeons using a safe and reliable technique developed by Prof Alwyn D’Souza, aimed at simplifying the complexity of the surgery. Upon completion of this course, participants will be confident in safely performing a facelift using these foundational techniques to achieve reliable results.

The program also includes key principles of reconstructive facial surgery, broadening its scope beyond aesthetic procedures. They may also further enhance their skills by attending our advanced facelift course at a later date.

Professor Alwyn D’Souza

MBBS, FRCS(ORL-HNS), FRCS(Eng), PGCertMedEd, EBFPRS

Professor Alwyn D’Souza is a renowned international expert in Facial Reconstructive and Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery (face, head & neck). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Having completed specialist training in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, Throat / Head and Neck Surgery) he was admitted on the GMC’s specialist register.

On the professional front, Professor D’Souza is the Immediate past President of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS.org), past President of Facial Plastic Surgery UK (FPSUK.org) and current Editor of the Facial Plastic Surgery Journal.  He holds the fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh and also dual certification by the European as well as the International Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition to this, he is the Editor-in-chief for the peer reviewed ‘Facial Plastic Surgery Journal’ by Thieme publishers. Professor D’Souza publishes extensively, research and review articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has authored several textbook chapters.  Professor D’Souza publishes research and review papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and has authored several textbook chapters.

He is an invited speaker to both national and international conferences and is an examiner for postgraduate examinations both in ENT (otolaryngology) and Facial Plastic Surgery.  His fellowship programme provides super-specialist training in Facial Plastic Surgery to suitably qualified surgeons from around the world.

Rana Das-Gupta

Rana was born and educated in London and trained as a doctor at The Royal London Hospital and has run a private consultant practise in cosmetic surgery in Harley Street. Prior to taking up an NHS consultant position in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Warwickshire, he has held training positions at many of the famous plastic surgery units in London, including Mount Vernon Hospital, UCH, Queen Marys Roehampton, Wexham Park, […]

Rana was born and educated in London and trained as a doctor at The Royal London Hospital and has run a private consultant practise in cosmetic surgery in Harley Street. Prior to taking up an NHS consultant position in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Warwickshire, he has held training positions at many of the famous plastic surgery units in London, including Mount Vernon Hospital, UCH, Queen Marys Roehampton, Wexham Park, and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals and has held senior positions in plastic surgery in Denmark, Chester and Norway. He was indeed a substantive NHS (equivalent) Consultant in Norway for several years prior to returning to the UK.

Mr Das-Gupta completed clinical fellowships in cleft surgery, craniofacial surgery and hand surgery. He also had the opportunity, during his registrar training, to assist many of London’s leading cosmetic surgeons in their operating theatres. Mr Das-Gupta is committed to attending international meetings to keep abreast of best practise within the speciality.

He offers the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and has recently published papers on the latest techniques in breast reconstruction, in the British Journal of Plastic Surgery.

Mr. Shailesh Vadodaria

Mr. Shailesh Vadodaria is an experienced senior Consultant Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon with qualifications including MBBS (Gold Medal), MS, MCh, and FRCS.

Mr. Shailesh Vadodaria is an experienced senior Consultant Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon with qualifications including MBBS (Gold Medal), MS, MCh, and FRCS. He is currently affiliated with the MACS Clinic in Watford, The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, and 9 Harley Street, London.

Mr. Vadodaria is the founding executive and immediate past president of CAPSCO (2019-2022) and UKAAPS, as well as a founding trustee of the Help Smile Trust UK since 2011, dedicated to supporting cleft lip and palate treatments since 2011.

Throughout his career, he has earned several accolades, including the Best Scientific Paper award at APSICON (1984) and the J.N. Tata Scholarship for advanced training in Sweden. He has delivered 150 papers at national and international conferences and is recognized for his innovations in surgical instruments, simulators, and techniques, published in peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals.

As an invited faculty member at International Plastic Surgery events in Sweden, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Dubai, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Pakistan and India, Mr. Vadodaria is a respected educator and practitioner. His areas of expertise include dimple creation, facial aesthetic surgery, chin augmentation, prominent ear correction, gynecomastia, liposuction, labiaplasty, body contouring and post-massive weight loss reconstruction.

Mr. Vadodaria has authored a chapter entitled ‘Body Contouring Following Massive Weight Loss’ in textbook of Aesthetic Surgery Techniques edited by Professor. Jim Frame and published by ELSEVIER

Dr Eugene Wong

Consultant in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Facial Plastic Surgery

“Dr Eugene Wong is a dual-qualified, fellowship-trained consultant in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Facial Plastic Surgery, and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

He graduated from University of Aberdeen, Scotland and completed his higher surgical training in ENT at University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. He then completed the prestigious European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) hands-on fellowship training program in London where he advanced his expertise in facial plastic surgery and passed their board examination.

Dr. Wong has also worked as a research fellow in the renowned Common Cold and Nasal Research Centre in Cardiff University and the Inner Ear Research Laboratory in University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, and has led and coordinated multiple large clinical trials and obtained an MPhil degree for his rhinology research. He has also co-authored two ENT books and continues to actively publish in peer-reviewed journals.”

Mr Anil Joshi

Facial Plastic Surgeon

Mr Joshi is a consultant ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon working in London, UK. His NHS practice is based at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He practices in many private hospitals in Central London area including HCA owned London Bridge Hospitals at Shard and Old Broad Street.

Mr Joshi is a specialist in performing Rhinoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, reconstruction of facial defects, otoplasty, facelift, blepharoplasty and remodelling of scars and keloids. He underwent higher surgical training in Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals. He has qualified in Ear, Nose and Throat specialty with MS, DOHNS and FRCS (ORL-HNS) degrees.

He is on the Specialist Register with the General Medical Council. He undertook Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship training in Utrecht and Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, Netherlands; Rhinoplasty fellowship in Seoul, South Korea and London, UK. He is Board certified in his field acquiring both the International and European Board certification for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS).

Mr Joshi has authored a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of head and neck and facial plastic surgery. He is a regular faculty on various instructional courses and international conferences in his specialised field throughout the world. He is the National Delegate representing the UK at the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and is part of their media committee. He is also part of the committee of FPS-UK.

Ng Chew Lip

MBBS (S'pore), MRCS (Edin), MMed (ORL), FAMS, FIBCFPRS

Prof Ng Chew Lip is an Otolaryngologist trained in Facial Plastic Surgery. He is fellowship-trained in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in London, UK and Toronto, Canada, during which he was awarded the Kris Conrad Award in Facial Plastic Surgery. He has strong interests in Asian rhinoplasty, facial palsy rehabilitation, sinus surgery, and scar management after face and neck surgery.

Dr Ng is the Clinical Director, Undergraduate Director and Research Director of his department. He holds the academic appointment of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and was former Associate Program Director of the National University Health System ENT Residency Program.

Dr Ng actively publishes in peer-reviewed journals, has authored textbook chapters and serves on the editorial boards of medical journals including the Singapore Medical Journal. He has received several grants for his research work.

Outside of clinical work, Dr Ng serves as Honorary Secretary of the Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Singapore, Council Member of the Singapore Medical Association, member of the Law Society Inquiry Panel, and member of the Art Science Council of the NUS Mind Science Centre.

Ms Maria A Pulido

Maria Pulido is London based, ENT Surgeon and Rhinologist with experience in both surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetics.

Ms Pulido is an international active member of the European Academy of Facial plastic surgery (EAFPS) and organizer of multiple international academic meetings in the field of Rhinology and ENT. She is part of the MCh programme in Aesthetic facial surgery and minimally invasive facial interventions lead by professor Alwyn D’Souza.

Mr Kristian Hudson

Mr Kristian Hutson is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and is also a member of The ENT Consultancy team. He was awarded a funded fellowship by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, where he gained extensive experience in rhinoplasty surgery, skin cancer reconstruction, and cosmetic and rejuvenative procedures. He received the Tony Bull Prize for best research paper and the Claus Walter Award for the highest international score in the European Board Examination in Facial Plastic Surgery.

Mr Hutson’s specialist interests include nose and sinus conditions, allergy and smell disorders, septorhinoplasty and cosmetic procedures, and facial plastic surgery/skin cancer surgery

Dr. Harshdeep Mangat

BSc, MD, DMD, MSc, FRCDC, Dip. ABOMS, MRCS(Edin.)

Dr. Harshdeep Mangat is dual-degree and double-board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Following medical and dental school, he completed his surgical training at the University of Toronto. To further pursue his passion for Cosmetic Surgery, he was internationally selected for the prestigious European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in London, England.

With the exceptional experience of training under some of the foremost surgeons in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Mangat has developed an expertise in the full scope of Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery techniques.

His surgical experience and aspirations are balanced by a strong interest in clinical research to remain engaged with cutting-edge advancements and techniques within the field. At present, he is a scientific reviewer for the Facial Plastic Surgery journal and an active member of European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Being a native of Western Canada, Dr. Mangat provides comprehensive care in both Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of British Columbia and staff surgeon at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver.
